Woman Experiencing Dental EmergencyWhen It’s an Emergency

Choose a dentist you can trust!

Having a dental emergency can mean different things to different people. Some might have a higher pain tolerance and avoid seeing the dentist for much longer. Others are worried about bills and lack of insurance coverage. But in either case, having a dental problem is not something you should ignore. The problem will only get worse. Even if you don’t consider it a true “emergency,” it’s in your best interest to get it fixed as soon as possible. So make sure you choose a dentist you can trust. Find one who understands the situation, is attentive to your needs, and cares about your health!

In general, a dental emergency falls into two broad categories: ongoing pain/infection or sudden traumatic accidents.

Ongoing Toothache Pain/Infection

When you’re in pain due to a toothache, we’re here to help. We understand that tooth problems can be incredibly annoying and disruptive. You might be experiencing a sharp pain while eating or chewing, or it could be a dull throbbing pain that comes and goes periodically.

The toothache source can also vary, but tooth pain is likely to occur whenever the outer tooth enamel is compromised. It may be a cavity that results in sensitivity, or it could be an infection that causes swelling.

Tooth Trauma Emergency

When you have a broken tooth, it may occur suddenly due to an accident or traumatic blow. Or, a weakened tooth might break without warning while eating. Either way, you are probably experiencing extreme pain and discomfort. (Additionally, when a broken tooth is obvious and affecting your appearance, you’ll of course want it fixed as soon as possible.)

Whatever your tooth problem, know that we’re here to help! So please, contact us today to schedule an emergency appointment.
